" it only takes 30 seconds for a child to drown and that drowning is very often completely silent. It does not look like it does on TV. There are no splashes, no noises to indicate that it is happening. It happens almost entirely underneath the water line. But no one knows this."  -Judah Brown's mom " Don't Let them Drown The Judah Brown Project

John Michael's Story
I want you to realize no family is immune to tragedy, no matter how careful, rich or poor. It can and does happen to the best of families. Please don’t assume your child is safe just because there are a lot of people around. They can slip away unnoticed.

Children ages 1 to 4 have the
highest drowning rates

Drowning is responsible for
more deaths among children 1-4 than
any other cause except congenital anomalies

Among those 1-14, fatal drowning remains the second-leading cause of unintentional injury-related death behind motor vehicle crashes.

Xander's Story

Unfortunately, I learned the hard way but I hope our story helps even one family be more aware. I would give anything in this world to kiss and hug my baby boy again. I pray no one ever has to feel what we have.  Please be aware and cherish every single moment you have with your children.

                Levi's Story

In what seemed like a blink of an eye, Levi had gone out the door, ventured downstairs and gotten into the pool. Though Hughes had preached water safety to her children and had Levi wear a life jacket any time he was by water and signing up her two daughters for swimming classes, she found herself confronting a parent’s worst nightmare.

"And even with tons
of doctors around...."

We had six physicians on our trip, including my husband. If Levi could have been saved by desperation, skill, and love, he would still be here. Yet, how did I not fully realize just how quickly a child can drown? They initiated CPR immediately, even intubated him before the ambulance arrived. But, Levi could not be saved, even with this immediate response.

                                                       Judah's story
He was a water baby. He absolutely loved the water and would play in it all day, if momma would let him. Knowing this, we got him swimming lessons early. We were told that he was taught how to rescue himself, if ever he needed to. We practiced these techniques with him regularly. We did all we knew to do to make sure he stayed safe, especially around water. We never would have imagined that even with all of this, we did not do enough to protect our boy
